Entry into both the house and its grounds is completely free but there is a charge to park in the car park, which is a pay and display car park. The entrance is at the front of the building but since the car park is at the rear this is slightly confusing, as visitors have to walk all the way a...

Picasso Salts Mill (Shipley)
... range of over 100 David Hockney posters. Beautiful reproductions of Simon Palmer's Saltaire Paintings are also available; the originals are on display later in Gallery 2 on the same floor. Now carefully restored they have pride of place in the History of Saltaire Exhibition. Here you can learn about Sir Titus Salt's mill and model village from 1853 to the present day. The third floor houses one of the mill's three eateries, Café in the Opera. Lovers of fish and seafood dishes can enjoy lunch here with a glass of wine or two. However, as many of the reviews say, we walked around all the exhibits, stopping and taking photographs of almost every one and were still at the exit in an hour and a half. And this included 10 minutes queueing for the utterly pointless Stardome show. What is this about?? Its neither amusing or informative. Its not even an advert - even the kids were bemused as to what it was for. I expected at least a show of how the models were made, what we saw were 4 half made heads in glass cases. Some interactive events would have been good - the most interactive it got was kicking a football at a screen (why??) Admittedly some of the models a...
