Skipton Castle (Skipton) ... castle website 2007* Skipton Castle is open daily from 10am (Sunday 12 noon), except for 25 December. Last admission is at 6pm (October - February 4pm). Adults: £5.60 Children (5-17): £3.00 Children under 5: free Over 60s and students: £5.00 Family Ticket for two adults and up to 3 children over 5: £16.90 (saves up to £3.60). Guides are available for pre-booked parties at no extra cost (reduced rate of £4.60 per head for adult parties of 15 or more). Hillsborough Park (Sheffield) ... open all of the time and is completely free to enter. There are turnstiles at the entrance to restrict the entry of older kids on pushbikes. Quite close to the children's playground there is a large pavilion. This pavilion was built in 2005 at a cost of £660,000, again partly funded by a grant from Active England. This replaced another smaller pavilion which was built in 1964, although this previous pavilion was popular it did not offer the facilities required in a modern community building. (The majority of the actual film was shot here) Getting there..... By Road: Along the A57 Glossop to Sheffield road crosses Ladybower by the Ashopton viaduct. A minor road on the west side of this leads to Fairholmes. Approaching from Hope Valley, follow the A6013 north from Bamford to reach Ladybower and the A57. By Bus: The 273 bus from Sheffield to Castleton goes to Fairholmes Information Centre. The 273 Sheffield (or Chesterfield) to Castleton bus stops at the Ladybower Inn alongside Ladybower Reservoir.
