A lovely way to spend 2 hours in Chester

I found details of this tour on www.visitchester.co.uk when I was looking at things to do for a weekend away in Chester..

The tour costs £5.00 per adult and is essentially a walking tour tasting the various local produce of Chester and Cheshire. My partner and I went and there was only us and another couple who met our tour guide so it was a nice small party... It started at 2.00pm outside the town hall and was supposed to take an hour and a half... however our tour ended up taking 2 hours...!

Our tour was able to answer some of our general history questions regarding Chester and not just the food related ones and he was obviously very knowledgeable in his field..

He took us to the ice cream shop, cheese shop, chocolate shop and wine shop and we were lucky enough to get some free tasters (even in the wine shop) We also went into the butchers but no free samples there!

The tour guide did explain that the tasters can vary greatly depending on what the shops have on at the time...our tour ended in a little tea room where we got free chester cake if we bought a tea or coffee...which we did!

The pace of the tour was very leisurely and not a massive hike although there were some steps to go up and down...

My partner and I are in our 30's and I'm not a massive historian if truth be told, however we both found this tour thoroughly enjoyable and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of visiting Chester..
