To find the oldest cottages in England you have to go to Bibury, Gloucestershire in the Cotswolds.
In many places in the Cotswolds the houses still have to blend in with the rest of the buildings. As many of the buildings are old they are built of cotswold stone.

Arlington Row was built as a sheep house in 1370 but in the 1600s it was coverted for the weavers.

Today they are still lived in and are one of the most photographed homes of "ordinary" people. They have always been lived in.

The River Coln flows in front of the houses and if you are quiet you can sit and watch the trout that are there and probably got away from the trout farm and bred.
When visiting Arlington Row you can see the beauty of the area and the mill which you can see working on special days.

To see these cottages you would not believe their age. Bibury has built up around them.
