Advantages: None, really...

Disadvantages: Not much to do, no shopping, awful traffic

Grantham is a small market town in Lincolnshire, and the birthplace of Isaac Newton, and Margaret Thatcher. In the town you are fairly limited as to what there is to do.
It has few shops, as with ASDA coming to town ten years ago, most of them have closed, and any new ones that dare try to open end up going the same way.
You could go to the museum, which is free to enter, can pass half an hour of your time, and in the evening you can go bowling, or to the local two screen cinema, or you can go drinking in one of granthams 35 or more pubs.
If you have transport there is more available for you. There are some nice walks around the outskirts of the area, or you can vistit belvoir castle (where Gareth Gates recently got married) which is a castle/museum, or you could head out to Grimsthorpe castle, which is a beautiful place.
To be honest, Grantham is a dead town, I'm pretty sure you could find something better to do.... I mean, lincoln and Nottingham are just up the road!
