Advantages: the view, location, price to park
Disadvantages: nout
Basically if you attempt to paddle in the sea you have about half an hour to walk from the sand to the shore - it is that wiiiiiiide. My boyfriend took me who lives in Norfolk and I just couldn't believe it, definately worth seeing. Incidently it was where they filmed the All Saints song "The Beach". Anyway, first we started parking the car and found we were right in the middle of a wood, I thought, eh?! This ain't a beach! He took me along a pathway where fellow visitors wandered about and it was a gorgeous place, then up a steep stretch of earth until we got to the top where the woodland opened up to an amazing view. The beach disappeared into the horizon I couldn't even see the sea. So we started walking. By the time we got the shore I was nackered! But when I turned round to look back I saw an even better view. The woodlands strip looked 5mm high! But it framed the yellow sand perfectly, you could just imagine what the Vikings must have come across when they invaded England those millenias ago, it was stunning.

- 01/06/01 I think you are writing about Holkham beach rather than Wells-next-the-sea beach. Holkham beach was certainly the setting for All Saints pop music video. See my opinion entitled 'Holkham'. It is certainly a beautiful stretch of beach - I take my horse for a good gallop across the beach & he loves it too. |
