Advantages: The Circus

Disadvantages: The view from the top of the tower on a cloudy day is not so good

For me one of the best places to visit!

Blackpool Tower is somewhere that all ages can find something of interest the price is actually very reasonable at £13.95 for adults and £10.95 for children and seniors. Especially when included in the price you get admission to the Tower's Circus. The Circus has a different show every year with a variety of acts. Some are quite tame and other acts are quite daring so you get a bit of everthing. I have been regularly for 6 years and the circus is one of my favourite things about Blackpool Tower. The circus generally has two performances in a day normally around 12pm or 1pm and then again around 3pm or 4pm.

There are plenty of activities for children such as the Jurassic Walk and the Jungle Jims Towering Adventureland. There is also a mini bowling alley and an arcade which has the usual machines and games. I tend to avoid the arcades though and Blackpool is full of them anyway.

Then there is the Aquarium which both children and adults will enjoy don't get me wrong it doesn't have the best selection of aquatic life but it's a nice chilled out area.

There are places to eat including Restaurant 1894, they offer hot meals, Sandwiches and also a variety of desserts and pastries. I only went in once and I had a slice of carrot cake which was slightly drier than what it should have been, but it was nearing the end of the day.

Another one of my favourite places in the tower is the Tower ballroom which is a lovely place to relax and have a cuppa and to watch people dancing, some beginners and some more experienced.

Oh and of course the main attraction being the top of the tower it advertises that on a clear day you can see as far as the Lake District and North Wales, unfortunately I've always gone to the top of the tower on a cloudy or downright miserable day. It is still fun however to get in the lift and see the street below getting smaller. There is also the Walk of Faith which is a 2 inch glass panel located in the floor on one of the levels, at first a bit daunting but ok once you are used to the weird sensation of looking at the ground below.

The Lift does not go up when there are strong winds for obvious reasons so you have to pick your visit to the tower carefully.

Summary: I definately recommend the Blackpool Tower, a fun day out and at a reasonable price.
