Been to Bolsover Castle today with our English Heritage membership (bought with tesco vouchers, 4 x the value) Our joint membership (2 adults) should have been £75 - with our tesco vouchers than was cut to around £18! Great value.

Parking was a problem in the designated parking area but there was pleanty in the village centre round the corner.

The visitors centre is very modern and is the 1st thing you see when you enter the site. There is also a shop and tea room with outdoor seating in the visitors centre worth a visit.

The normal prices i think are quite steep at £7 per person and that is the only reason i only give this place 4 stars.

Once youve paid you pick up an audio tour (well worth a listen). This tells you all about the various rooms and areas around the castle.

It was very busy today but i think thats because there was a Nepolianic war reenactment going on. This was very good and realistic although the gun shots did scare some of the younger children! Bolsover castle do regular reenactments and i would recommend going on may bank holiday when theyre doing a jousting weekend.

Overall i would recommend this property, its a super day out for all the family. It is great value when you have the membership deal from tesco and i would recommend it whole heartedly. Give it a go!
