Advantages: beautiful, great views

Disadvantages: parking pricey, loads of locked rooms

I recently discovered that I live very near to what they call a Castle, yes it has a moat & yes it is very old & yes it probably did try to defend the country but I ask you, how the hell did this little pile of bricks ever defend anything, it couldn't even defend me from my girlfriend when I spent the whole 20 minutes looking arround the " CASTLE", I say I spent 20 minutes looking arround, but I actually spent 20 minutes trying to find a room that wasn't locked or one that wasn't just out of bounds to the public. I also found it hard to actually get down to the castle cause it is situated within the Calshot Activity Centre, with security guards on the gate and they decided to pick on me and ask me a million questions on where I was going.

but on the plus side, what I did read in the "castle" about the history was very interesting, it did serve its purpose & it is a beautiful place with a beautiful view across the solent, just lovely for a picnic, then you realise the car park charges and choke on your sausage roll!!!!!!
