Cars of the Stars is as its name suggests a museum based around famous cars from both television series and movies. It is in Keswick in the Lake District and is easy to get to, local parking is good but get into the town early especially at peak periods to find parking. The town of Keswick is well worth a visit in itself, and you would not expect to find such a musuem here. The cars here include, Robin Reliant - Only Fools and Horses Ford Anglia - Harry Potter KITT - Knightrider Rolls Royce (FAB1) - Thunderbirds Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Dolorian - Back to the Future The A-Team Van These are not ... Ok you're in the Lake District and its raining. You know what I mean this is not normal rain but Cumbrian rain. You have screaming kids with you and they want to do something. Keswick is the place to head and then go to the CARS OF THE STARS MUSEUM. It's based in the middle of Keswick with loads of car parks near by. The car parks can get very busy at peak times so you may have to drive around for a while or park in one of the many side streets. The museum does not look like much from the outside and as you enter the main building you still think there is not much in here. But on entering the doors to the to the museum part of the building you realise that ... Read the complete review

This small museum, owned by Peter Nelson, is situated in the centre of Keswick, behind the Royal Oak pub, in the heart of the Lake District. It is home to many beautifully restored vehicles which have appeared in television shows and films. The place is open most of the year, varying on the season. The cost of admission when I visited was £4.00 for an adult and £3.00 for a child, (prices may change). It cost me £14.00 for my visit, which was not too bad considering the museum was not as small as it looks from the outside. It opened in 1989 to the public, but was officially opened 1990 by a Gerry Anderson and houses his creation, Lady Pennelope's ... Read the complete review

This place is a hidden gem! You wouldn't think of Keswick as being a tourist destination that attracts car enthusiasts, more the sort of place for hillwalkers, cyclists, lazy walks in the country.... One of the other museums in the town is dedicated to pencils for goodness sake! But This one is a cut above the rest. Granted it is not very big, and they don't have the space to display all of their vehicles at any one time, but you are always guaranteed to see a good few of your favourite cars from the movies and tv programmes. The museum is easy to find, as is signposted in several parts of the town, and is located only a minutes walk from one of ... Read the complete review

This museum first opened in May 1989 and the idea for this attraction was the result of Granada Television approaching a dentist called Peter Nelson. Granada wanted to borrow Peter Nelson’s MG TC car, for use in the television series “The Spoils Of War” The museum is as the name suggests…cars of the Stars, and there are many cars of famous films and TV programmes. The Cars of the Stars Museum is situated in Keswick in the Lake District. Once you are in Keswick The cars of the Stars Museum is sign posted, so you should have no problem in finding it, but…. We arrived in Keswick about 10 am and the car park closest to the museum ... Read the complete review
