Advantages: Something for everyone.
Disadvantages: Can be queues - also there is no book stall on site
If you are the sort of person who simply cannot resist a bargain, then Cornish Market World will be right up your street. It is (allegedly) the biggest indoor market in Great Britain, boasting 80,000 square feet of covered space filled with more than 300 stalls. You can spend a whole day browsing for bargains, sustained by food and drinks from one of the two restaurants on site, or from one of the myriad of vans located just outside which sell all sorts of fast food from piping hot donuts to steak sandwiches. There is a huge variety of stalls which seem to sell everything at market prices. You can buy clothes, fresh meat, watches, tapes and CD's, pet supplies, toys, bed linen, electrical goods, fruit and veg, crafts, plants, newspapers and magazines - it's like a town of small, independent shops where you can find almost everything you want. Situated on a small retail park, the market benefits from ample free parking, although it has to be said that it is so popular that there are frequently long queues to get in and find a space. It has more than adequate toilet facilities, including a baby changing area, and excellent disabled access. (you can even borrow a wheelchair if necessary). And, if the kids get bored with all that shopping,'Bens Play World' is under the same roof. Here for an admission fee of between £2.50 and £3.50 (depending on peak or off peak), children can stay all day, enjoying such treats as ball pools, multi level mazes, assault courses, slides and wobbly bridges. Children under the age of 2 are admitted free, as are accompanying adults. For a small extra fee, there is mini golf, train rides and several other outdoor attractions. The Market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, although as mentioned earlier, you may have to queue to get on site at popular times. It is also frequently open on Bank Holidays too. Cornish Market World is well worth a visit, ei
ther for the holiday maker, or for those living within driving distance.Get there early - and grab yourself a few bargains.

- 04/01/01 Yeh Cornish Market World`s a great place, visit it every summer when I am on holiday in St Austell.I would agree with you about the cues though they can be horrendous and sometimes you have to fight for a parking spot for your car and it tends to be very crowded and warm inside. But still a great place to visit and pick up a bargain or two. |
