Cressing Temple Barns (Braintree, Essex) ... cressing.temple@essexcc.gov.uk. / Cressing Temple is a scheduled ancient monument in Essex, UK. The site has its origins in the 12th century, when it was founded by the Knights Templar. It is home to the two finest Templar barns in Europe.The site is made up of a group of remarkable farm buildings, the barns, a Templar well and a Tudor walled garden. It is now owned by Essex County Council and is open to the public at selected times throughout the year. We offer attractive surroundings with extensive parking for conferences and large events.

Now, as it looks as if the winter is finally over and the weather has become a bit nicer, we have started to think again where to go on those sunny days, off from school/work. As we have moved to Essex only last summer and haven't had that much time yet to explore the area, we don't have to drive too far to find places that are new to us.
