Advantages: Good parking. The rain forest dome is excellant.

Disadvantages: Quite expensive.

I visited the Eden project earlier this year, staying close by at the Victoria Inn, which was ideally suited for our stay and quite close to get to by car. The Eden project is situated at Bodelva near St Austell, and was the idea of Tim Smit. I must admit that the Eden project is not for everybody's taste I think it's a place you either love or hate, I enjoyed my visit more than I had anticipated as it was my husband who was eager to go, I am glad I have visited the Eden project but it is a place I have visited and feel no need to ever return again,. (Been there and done that)

We purchased our tickets through our hotel which avoided us having to queue at the entrance. Prices were £15 for each adult.

If you are not a plant lover then this is definitely not the place for you to visit, Eden is the world largest greenhouse. Comprising of 3 biomes all at the base of a pit, as you look down these biomes look unusual sat in the base of what use to be a china clay pit, with there peculiar shapes, you don't really realise till you enter the biomes how big they really are and how vast the project is.

The biomes are split into two sections the Mediterranean and the rain forest I was a little disappointed with the Mediterranean part as it just seemed a little like an indoor park or garden centre, the Mediterranean Biome include aubergines, citrus fruits, grape vines, olives, but on entering the rainforest biome now your talking, on entering the humidity hits you, you definitely need to take off some layers in here. The Rainforest Biome contains tropical plants such as banana trees, coffee, rubber and giant bamboo.

The plants in the rainforest biome are gigantic, and some reaching to the top of the biomes which are 55 metres high, the waterfalls are also a great feature and we actually got the shock of a little lizard appearing in front of us this was great especially for children who giggled as it appeared.

Car parks are plentiful, we walked down and it was a quite steep walk, but there is a shuttle service to and from the biomes. All the car parks are colour coded; when we arrived for opening the car parks were all quite empty but on leaving we found that they were all pretty full.

The Eden project has very good facilities, plenty of places to eat, a large gift shop, which sells lots of memorabilia like most gift shops sell. The restaurants are quite expensive so it is a good idea to take a packed lunch.

The Eden project has quite a lot to offer for children lots of little paths, and hide away areas and play areas and storytelling and is very educational.

Overall I am glad I have been to visit the Eden project, it was something different but I wouldn't advise anyone just to travel down to go to just there, I think perhaps it is over rated quite expensive. Worth a visit if you're holidaying in Cornwall just to say you have been.

Summary: Glad ive been but will not go back.
