Advantages: Good transport , Reasonably priced, All weather attraction.

Disadvantages: Out of the way, Expensive refreshments., Busy.

Built inside a disused slate quarry just north of St. Austell, The Eden Project is an oasis of of plants from all over the world. Contained with the largest hot houses, or 'Biomes', in the world, the selection of plants represents species from all corners of the planet; from Jungle fauna and flora to the plants of the earth's deserts.

Having only been open since early 2001, many of the plants are only just settling into the their new habitat and it's easy ito imagine what this place will be like in a few years.

I recommend a visit, but one word of warning; Get there early as it has proved extrememely popular with both British and foreign tourists alike and can get exceptionally busy during peak periods. Saying that, when I visited for my 2nd time in July 2001 (having been there previously during construction), I found that the organisation of the Eden Project was second to none, with free shuttle buses provided from the car parks that were located some distance away, and a well organised ticket office. All this resulted in hardly any queues, despite the number of people that were there. On site, there are bars and restuarants, so it could be possible to spend an entire day here.
