Eden Project (Cornwall): ... since it was built in 2001 both my husband and I have had a fascination with the Eden Project but it was only last week during our holiday in Cornwall that we finally managed to visit! Most people will be familiar with the images of things that look a bit like huge plastic golf balls appearing out of the ground - and it was great to go and see what these were all about at last. The Eden Project is an educationa...

destiny2909 Royal Albert Hall in general
... Royal Albert Hall was built by Queen Victoria to commemorate her husband Albert and thought by many to be the most famous and most beautiful concert hall in the UK. It is worth visiting just to look at the amazing arcitecture, without even needing to go inside. On a summers evening that red brick literally glows. If you ever get the chance to attend an event at RAH (as fans know it), then you absolutely must! An evening performance in that hall is simply incredible. I have been lucky enough to attend 3 performances there, one of which required black tie and cocktail dress which just added to the incredible vibe of the place. Inside the hall, the first time you sit...

Whizz11 Buckingham Palace
... husband and I visited Buckingham Palace this past weekend and I definitely have to recommend it, it is well worth a visit and makes you quite proud to be English when you are there. As we all know Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the British Monarch. In recent years they have taken the decision to open up some of the state rooms to the public to keep up with the times and promote themselves as a forward thinking monarchy. This only happens in summer (this year, 29th July to 29th September) as the rest of the time the family still live there. Buckingham Palace is one of the last working palaces in the world. My visit first started out with the pu...

destiny2909 Roman Baths Museum
... were in the baths by 9:45am and at the peak of the tourist season, this was probably a good idea. As when we were sitting outside the Abbey at around 3pm we could see that the baths were much much busier than when we d been there. Also, go early and you will beat the hordes of foreign teenagers on tours! The baths weren t cheap to enter (£12 for an adult) I think, although concessions for children/students/OAPs are available. For an extra £2 you can get a joint ticket for the fashion museum, which is certainly worth doing if you were planning to visit that museum anyway. On arrival you are given a device like a large phone to listen to an audio commentary. There ...
