Launceston Steam Railway: ... visited this attraction on a family holiday last year and have to say it was great fun. You basically get to ride on a old steam train on a journey that takes about an hour each way. The train stops off at different stops long the way where you can get off and have a wander around. We stopped off at 2 places, the first was amongst some woods where we had a small riverside walk and had a picnic and the second was...

pinkmuppet Lamorna Cove
... Cove is a bautiful little cove in Cornwall, please don t ask me where cos I can t remember! I think it is near Mousehole near Penzance and is worth a visit if you have been in the area. You have to park outside of the village up the hill and then walk the 5 minutes or so down into the cove. Here you will find a small sandy and stony beach a few houses dotted up on the cliffside, a small harbour and a couple of cafe s. There isn t a lot here but if you are peace and tranquility away from all the crowds to just sit and contemplate and enjoy the magnificent cornish coastline then this is a real winner. If you walk a little way around the harbour you can, with car...

pinkmuppet Presingoll Barns
... Barns is situated on the road to St Agnes on the north coast on Cornwall. Its essentially a gourp of old barns that was redevloped into a shopping mall albeit on a small basis and selling a number of different gifts. Whenevr we have been to cornwall we usually call here to grab a few presents to bring back. Originally, Presingoll Barns was just selling pottery but now they have developed into lots of different things, they stil sell poterry but now they also have a glassware shop, candle shop, childrens toy shop amongst others. I think there may be an outdoor play are for the children if I remember correctly for if the weather is fine and there is also a sma...

pinkmuppet Day Out with Thomas - York National Railway Museum
... have taken our children to this event a couple of times and both times I was very impressed. It s not too expensive to get in and you can book online which means you can them avoid the queues when you go. Initally you go through to the old station where all the old trains are and its amazing to see how big some of these things were, you can wander about on some of the and even look at the old royal coaches Tomas and his friends are outside in the yard and you can ride on them as often as you like, its just a short trip up and down the track but the kids love it. There is also a miniature railways to ride on too and the engine shed where some of the other Thomas fa...
