Advantages: Firmly aimed at families with young children, so no yobbish behaviour!, accepts clubcard vouchers

Disadvantages: Expensive, very long queues, some of the toilets were filthy

My husband, 6 year old daughter and myself visited Legoland at the end of August 2007. We were camping near Maidenhead and used our tesco clubcard deals vouchers to visit the park two days running. In hindsight I see now that was a bit too much Lego for one person to handle! I was six months pregnant at the time so was unable to go on nearly all of the rides; however my husband and daughter did manage to get on most of them. I must say I have never seen queues this long at any other theme park i've visited; my husband and daughter queued for nearly 2 hours just to get on the log flume, which i thought was very excessive for such a tame ride. However the days we visited were blazing hot and it was the summer holidays so i guess this was to be expected. Also at most other theme parks the rides are aimed at all ages, but Legoland really only caters for children, which made it a bit of a boring experience for us adults! However my daughter absolutely loved it and didn't mind the queueing, though i think if she had been a couple of years younger this would have been a real problem.

The only real complaint I have about the place is that the ladies toilets at the entrance were some of the dirtiest i've ever been in, they were so smelly that people were actually retching! This didn't make for a great start to the day. The food was the usual theme park fare; overpriced and pretty tasteless! I would recommend taking a picnic! Another thing which I found really strange is that every eaterie we visited there had fridges full of alcohol, something I've not seen at any other family attractions (had i not been pregnant at the time I may have been tempted to indulge; it may have made the days more fun for me!)

We as a family are in no major hurry to visit Legoland again, mainly because it as at the other end of the country from where we live, but if it was near us we would be tempted to visit again, if we had enough clubcard deals tokens and it wasn't in the school holidays that is!

Summary: A fun family day out, aimed squarely at children

We live quite near to it - and had year passes at one point. Loads of the rides you have to be 90cm for which is ridiculous as they are the tamest things ever. If you do go then going at about 3pm is what the locals do!
