Advantages: Not many picnic areas, The rides are clearly marked as to suitability for ages and heights!
Disadvantages: Lots of walking, quite expensive for adults
In the grounds of the former Windsor safari park and high up overlooking breathtaking Views of Windsor and even London on a bright day..stands LEGOLAND... Open from end of March until End of October As you approach LEGOLAND Which is easily accesible from either the M4 or the M3 you steadily climb and curve your way to the entrance..Lots of LEGO characters greet you as your arrive... There appears to be about 4 carparks and at least 2 of them are very close to the entrance, there is also a fee paying carpark(£5) which seems to be even closer, but on close inspection its not much difference at all! There is also special carpark for disabled badge holders which is very near the entrance to legoland.. As you walk from your car to the entrance there are about 10 booths, which is where you pay and have never been that busy when I have been... The sting is the Price...I live locally therefore get a discount, but the prices are Adult £22.95 Child(3-15) £19.95 Off peak a reduction of £3.. You are able to upgrade your ticket at the end of your visit to a 2 day pass then an annual pass( which is what i have got)you tend to save a bit more money when you upgrade,so its worth it if you plan to go again! So were in,and standing high above Windsor your expereince begins... At this level you have a fast food outlet and 2 Lego shops, one selling clothes and one selling lego merchandise. Yo u can also hire a buggy for the day which can easily sit two children and also room for the bags and all your gear . You are breath taken by the views and then 2 minutes later the kids are shouting at you to hurry up and get on the train! The Hill train takes you into the actual theme park and you can also walk,Its quite a walk though and hard walking back after the end of an exhausting day playing.. When you arrive you are given a map of Legoland and to be honest I have been there loads o
f times and I still find the Map hard to follow(maybe its just me!??) Legoland is separated into themed areas and all the rides are graded into Safety Grades...ie minimum height/ages/weight/medical conditions/and Wet rides!!!!! There are various eating areas around legoland from Pizza/pasta/burgers/Icecream/doughnuts/baguettes!! We had a Burger and chips and a small drink and it came to over £6...and was yuk...packed lunch for me in future.... There are clean toilets/nappy changing facilites... dotted around the park and are easily signposted... THE THEMED AREAS IMAGINATION CENTRE. Is what it says, this is an area where children can build/design things, there are few rides here, and you could get stuck here for a while if you have an inquizative child... I have never been here for any length of time. EXPLORELAND.. Has a few rides, and a LEGO AREA where smaller children can play LEGO indoors ,In this area there is also a new waterworks, which is like a giant playground, with water shoots and cannons popping up all over the place..BEWARE..you need swimwear and they insist the child is wearing atleast underwear and shoes! There is also a newly built outdoor play area with Slides and bouncing chairs all on a very soft floor.. My 3yr old loves it here... TRAFFIC... Here we have a driving school for younger children(3-5) and another one for the older children,a Boating school and thats about it! MY TOWN.. Has more rides, which are suitable for older children(over the age of about 5 and over a metre tall) There is also Jack Stones Stunt show, which everyone seems to love!? The Circus tent has never been open in the 5 times i have been so cannot comment on it! The Train is good fun,It takes you on a small ride around a small section of legoland lasts about 5/10 mins and has lots of Lego animals to look at.. WILD WOODS..... has 3 mazes which is great fun for the li
ttle ones a log flume the Rat trap (which is an adventure playground) and some children have be accompanied due to height restrictions... spinning spiders is fun for the smaller child too,as they think they are on a grown ups ride ,but you can control how fast they spin! CASTLELAND... Appears to have a big rollercoaster,as my child is too small for that ride i have not investigated it.. There is a smaller rollercoaster, which even i enjoyed and FINALLY MINILAND... Recreated from over 35million legobricks,is a recreation of various famous landmarks, like buckingham Palace/Mont Marche/airpots/Train stations/Dock,various places in France/Germany and other places too,(Cant remember) My personal View on Legoland is Its great for younger children, any child over the ages of 8 would find it quite boring i think Its very expensive Its very spread out,and you will struggle to do everything in one day The upgradeing is a great idea The food is yuk and very expensive The queues are not very long(or havent been in the 5 times i have been) I Live very local to legoland and have an annual pass,so tend to go in the afternoons and when the kids are at school... I will renew my Annual pass for next year as My daughter has a great deal of enjoyment there... My sister in law went to LEOGLAND last week with 4 children aged from 5 to 8 and saw everything/did everything they wanted too/and had a great time... Be prepared for a long/tiring day,but one a child will enjoy a great deal I feel I have been a bit hit and miss on the views about legoland,as i have tried to give my own opinion and also tried to imagine the opinion of someone who has travelled a long way and payed full price! Feedback would be appreciated on this opinion Thanx WEBSITE OF LEGOLAND WWW.legoland.co.uk WEBSITE OF WINDSOR...giving info on hotels and buses etc

- 08/08/03 Hi, nice to see you on Dooyoo!
Legoland is one of the best day out for kids under 12. It is expensive but there is a whole days worth of entertainment if you can stand the pace...
