Lizard Point is the most southerly point in England and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The road to the lizard passes goonhilly satellite station and you proceed past farms and beautiful countryside. There is a lighthouse here but I don't think you can go into it to have alook round. There isn't much here to be honest and I am glad to say they haven't turned it intoyest another horrendous theme park like they have spoiled Lands End. Fortunately the Lizard retains its natural charm and the views from the cliffs are out of this world. Judy Garland I hear you say, what's she got to do with Cornwall? Well, you remember her very famous song "We're off to see The Wizard, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz ?" . Now, I'm bringing out a new Dooyoo version, "We're off to see The Lizard, The Wonderful Lizard of Cornwall ". Doesn't rhyme you say, well that doesn't matter because I can't sing either, though it has been maliciously said of me that after inbibing a few pints of St. Austell's H.S.D. We have recently returned from a holiday in Cornwall, as it was out of season a lot of the normal attractions in the area were closed so we had a look at the map to see if there was anywhere else to go. We had previously been to lands end so we thought we would take a trip to Lizard Point the most southerly point in England. To get to the point you have to drive down some very narrow roads but there are some passing places on the way. You can drive all the way down to the point and there is a small car park at the bottom, the day we went was very windy so we ate our lunch sitting in the car with spectacular views out over the sea.
