Isn't It Just A Huge Ferris Wheel?
=====================

Yes, in one way it is just a very large Ferris wheel, but of course it is much more than that. First of all, unless you are very close it appears not to be moving. Now, that might sounds boring from a fairground Ferris wheel point of view, of course most or in fact all do not have a view of central London.

What Can You See?
=============

Obviously, the eye provides stunning aerial views of London, and particularly Westminster and the Houses of Parliament. Other sights you can see include St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, the BT Tower, Battersea Power Station, the Gherkin, BT Tower and much more. You travel in a capsule known as a pod. The pod gives you a panoramic view, although our pod could have done with having its windows cleaned.

How Long Does It Take?
================

The actual "flight" takes approx half an hour, this can change depending on whether the wheel needs to be stopped to allow disabled passengers on or off.

Of course, you will normally spend most of your time queuing, especially on a nice sunny day at the weekends or holidays. We first attempted to get on a sunny Saturday afternoon in late February, I asked at the information desk how long it could take to get on and was told half an hour to get the tickets and up to an hour and a half queuing to get on. The next day was a bit overcast but with good visibility, it took about 20 minutes to get the tickets then about ten minutes to actually get on the eye.

If you don’t fancy queuing for hours you can get a fast track ticket which means you don’t queue for tickets or to get on the eye, however this is a much pricier option

Other Information
============

At the end of the flight you are prompted to pose for a picture, however the warning comes way before the picture is actually taken and we had no idea where it was going to be taken from so when I looked on the picture on screen after no one was looking at the camera.

Summary
======

I feel that it is definitely worth going on the London Eye once, the half an hour went so fast I had to check my watch. The views are stunning. However, the prices are a bit steep and you might need to be prepared for a long wait.

I heard the security is really bad, and I wouldn't go there since it sounds like an excellent target for terrorists.
