I was given a free ticket to see the London Eye and wasn't exactly excited about the idea of taking a flight. I'm not good with heights for one thing and it just didn't seem like an exciting thing to do.
However, I was pleasantly surprised.
On arrival we queued up to buy tickets for my family and was shocked at how expensive it was. Living in London you would think that I would be used to such expensive prices for everything but for such a short journey it seemed a little much to pay.
The queue wasn't that long because we went during the day in the week but I have witnessed the queues being really long in the evening and at the weekend and I'm sure it's the same in the school holidays.

Being scared of heights I had to sit in the very middle of the capsule but even there I got a great view of London. Unfortunately during much of the journey the sights are hidden by the capsules in front of you but when you get to the top the sights are breath taking. It's a shame that you're not up there for longer because I had the feeling that I couldn't take it all in during the short time I was up there.
There is plenty of room and even though there are many people in one capsule there is still lots of space to move around. You're free to go wherever you want in the capsule so there's not the restriction of being seated.

I went during the day and it was great being able to see the views during the day but I've heard that it's beautiful at night with the city lit up and I hope to take a flight at night.

It was a pleasant experience and certainly something that tourists should try do when they're in London but I do think that it's a little bit over priced. You can get discounts when you book on line.
