Advantages: Cheap tickets, que not very long, amazing views and experience

Disadvantages: Makes you want to go again and again and again..

The London Eye has always looked spectacular when seeing its placement in capital London. The pure size and scale of it is such a great feature to the city, and when it hits evening when night falls, the lights on the capsules look spectacular.

After visiting London many times in the year and still yet to have been on this magnificent looking atttraction, I decided to look online for any details for prices and tickets.

I originally went on the London Dungeon website, as this was also an attraction I was looking forward to someday seeing. On the site it had package deals, including London Dungeons fast track tickets along with London Eye tickets. At a good price I purchased these for my girlfriend and I for her birthday.

After going to London and doing the usual sightseeing, we decided that we would go to the London Eye at around 5-6pm. At the time this was when it would be light just getting dark. We thought this was a good time to see the city at its best. We couldnt have been more right and picked a perfect time.

Before queing you are giving a quick but clearly good security check. This leaves you knowing you are safe when you enter into this capsule. We queued for a matter of 5-10mins. Hardly any time compared to some other things I have been to in the past. When each capsule comes down slowly people one by one but quickly step into it before security close and lock the door behind you.

Each capsule can hold around 20 people, but gives you still plenty of room. The glass is crystal clear, making it perfect to get a gorgeous view of the city. There are also benches inside the capsules for anyone wishing to sit down, although most people do tend to stay by the windows.

By the time we got a third of the way up the sky was darker and the London City lights were turning on, making a spectacular view over the Thames. This is a great opportunity for any photographer. The trip itself seemed to last around half an hour. At the time it goes smoothly, but when it comes to an end its an experience you just want to do again.

Towards the end of the trip as the capsules lowers down, almost back to the start, there are opportunitys to get a novelty picture taken, which can then be purchased at the gift shop. We got ours for the memories of such a good trip, and at £10 for two pictures, its no different in prices to any theme park pictures.

This is one experience not to miss out on. I would highly reccommend the night time views however.

Summary: An experince for any single, couple of family. Surely you couldnt get bored of this?
