Advantages: great views, steady pace, peaceful and unique

I know there are plenbty of reviews on the london eye already, but as everyone has a different experience depending what time of the year and day you go i'd thought i'd give my opinion about my experience!

I went in December, a few days before Christmas, as we were expecting it to be very busy we got up early and went for about 10am. We queued for about 30 seconds before getting our tickets, which cost us about £16 each. We then queued for the actual 'eye' for around 5 minutes before we had lift off!

It was reasonable quiet when we went, so there was only a total of 6 people in our capsual. This was great as it meant every one could move around freely and see the views without elbowing each other out off the way. Inside each capsual there was also a bench area, which would seat around 10 people so plenty of space for all! We paid for the bog standard trip, although there are a range of other options available, such as champagne, private capsuals and group/school bookings.

The eye moves steadily and slowly, so you dont feel your on a scary ride. You gradualy elevate and have plenty of time to appreciate the surrounding views! A complete ride takes around 30 minutes, but feels longer!

I really enjoyed our trip up the london eye, i felt it was a completely unique experience with great views over london. I think it is a once in a life time thing to experience, although with the ever changing landscape, i may venture up again in several years time! Well worth the expense!
