Advantages: great views of the city, a truly unique experience

Disadvantages: must go on a clear day to truly appreciate it

forget open top bus tours, this is the only way to really get a good view of london!!!

situated on the south side of the river thams over looking westminster the london eye stands tall at the centre of the city. the best way i found to get to it was to take the underground to westminster station then cross over westminster bridge after which the eye stands on the river bank on your left next to the london aquarium and dali museum.

tickets for adults are around £15 which is quite pricey but not compared what would would pay to get into other attarctions around the city - for example at the london dungeon costs £21 per adult!!!! my advice would be to get there around opening time 9-9:30 to avoid large queues. the journey itself takes around 45 minutes. the pods themselves hold around 10-15 people and give spectacular views from both sides of the thames. at the very top of the wheel gives the best view and you can see as far as wembley staduim!

for anyone going to london this is a must see attraction, although without wanting to state the obvious - make sure you go on a clear day!!!
