Advantages: See the whole of london

Disadvantages: Bit warm on sunny days

Intro
------
The London Eye is a massive, glorified ferris wheel situated in the heart of westminster, London. It is open for rides between the hours of 8-9.30 and is a truly wonderful spectacle.

It was opened in 1999 for the millenium, and this is the reason that it was originally called the 'millenium wheel'. It has wonderfully stood the test of time, unlike the millenium dome, which no one nowadays has even heard of!

Each ride lasts 30 minutes, and allows you to get over 400ft high meaning that you can see everything across London which is just magnificent.

My experience
------------------
My girlfriend and I were booked on the basic flight, which meant that you literally get on, take in the scenery, and then get off 30 minutes later.

However, there are many other options that you can take part in such as champagne flights, and night flights, which truly can only add to this wonderful experience.

We really enjoyed our flight. It was a beautifully sunny day and we headed onto the eye in the early afternoon, which meant that we could literally see all across London, down the thames and beyond.
The only bad point, was that this sun did make it very warm inside the capsule, obviously the fact that it is all glass does not help it in this respect.

Pricing
--------
The pricing is very reasonable in my opinion. For an adult to take part in a basic flight it is a mere £30. This really, especially for london, is very good value for money when you consider how much other attractions such as Madame Tussauds and London zoo are. In my opinion you get far better value for money on the Eye.

Summary
-----------
In my opinion, this is a brilliant thing to do when having a day out in the capital. I know there is a lot to fit in, but i would really go for this!

Strongly recommended.

Can't believe this costs £30 nowadays! We paid about a fiver when it first opened (admittedly that is nearly ten years ago now!) x
