Advantages: animals kept in near ideal conditions, Lots to see & do, appeals to young & old

Disadvantages: Quite expensive, Long queues I would imagine in summer

A truly interesting & pleasurable day out for young & old.
We took our grandson's yesterday & although it cost £52.00 to get in it was well worth it. Just as well because Mike was gob smacked & kept feeling his back pocket as it was considerably lighter!
With the Passport Ticket, you can enjoy all 12 amazing attractions at one superb price! Not only does it save you over 61% off the combined individual attractions? admission prices but it is also valid throughout that season? you can come back and enjoy the magic of Longleat as often as you like, although each attraction can be visited once only during the 2004 season (27th March to the 31st October 2004).

First of all for the kids - Adventure Castle & maze, miniature train ride which was much longer than expected & gave us some lovely views of the wildlife, King Arthur's Mirror Maze, Old Joes Mine where live bats were flying over head. Pet's corner where the kids got to handle some animals and the butterfly garden where beautiful large butterflies surround you. This was the favorite of the 8 eight year old.

For everyone - a lovely picnic area, several shops, restaurants & toilets which were clean & inviting.Safari boats which cross the lake followed by excited seals. In the middle of the lake is an island where the gorillas live unconfined by anything other than the water.

For the adults - the house & gardens & the paintings of Lord Bath which we plan to visit before the end of the season, without the boys, so that we can do them justice. A magnificent river runs through the Estate & many people lined the banks, sheltering under their little tents & fishing to their hearts content.

BUT, BEST OF ALL -THE SAFARI PARK. It took our breath away. We saw so many different animals at such close quarters & many came right up to the car. The only animals we didn't see were the monkeys as we did not want to risk damage to our new car. It was easy to bypass this & w
e shall see them on our next visit by taking the Safari bus.

The lions & tigers were awesome! I just could not believe how big they really are & we were able to get within yards of them; safely protected by our car & with reminders everywhere -
" not to get out of your car" & " to keep windows closed". The boys were so excited & kept pointing out yet something else to see. Even though they are frequent visitors to Paignton Zoo there was certainly a thrill in this Safari through the English countryside.
Everything is well laid out & beautifully kept and is a credit to the staff involved. It must be an enormous task to keep things in such pristine condition & I take my hat off to them all.

I cannot list all the attractons here but this is the address of the website. Check it out - http://www.longleat.co.uk/attractions.asp

We are looking forward to going back in the near future.
