Advantages: The ability to take photos of one another with most of the models.
Disadvantages: Premium price but several second rate elements, especially Planetarium show.
The website tended to put me off with too much mystery about what to expect, threats of long queues, unclear pricing and pressure to book a timed arrival slot.
Waxworks were generally excellent, with some exceptions such as Elvis.
The ability to get up close and take photos of one another with the stars was great. Fortunately we had a digital camera although there had been no advice to bring one.
Taxi ride concept was good but was too hurried and our taxi had only French commentary. The experience would be much better if run at half speed with a more informative commentary.
Unable to comment on the Chamber of Horrors because the build-up scared our teenage girls from actually going in.
The finale in the old Planetarium was total rubbish - a pathetic 'entertainer' (who must surely get depressed at the lack of audience response) and an extremely disappointing 'film'. I never saw the old astronomy-based show, but it must have been better than this. It would be better to omit this element altogether than make customers suffer such a downbeat finale.
It was a shame to see so many missed opportunities to make this a much more professional product. It would not take a lot of investment to deliver a premium product worthy of the premium entrance fee - just someone in charge with a passion for getting it right. Anyone with experience of Disney or any other American show would be particularly disappointed by the lack of polish.
Summary: Patchy - some super bits, a dreadful finale and a general lack of polish.

Richada - 11/02/08 It's a good few years since we visited but I actually remember the Planetarium as a highlight yes. My overall verdict: An expensive rip-off - and we went in on a 2 for 1 Tesco special! Richard. |
