Advantages: few

Disadvantages: expensive, queue

I have been to London so many times but never made a trip to Madame Tussauds, why?... There really is no reason as I have done almost every other 'attraction' that one can do. However on a recent trip in January we decided we would go so we booked ahead through a website and got our tickets for 15 each rather than the standard 30! It is very hot and crowed, so prepare yourself for being pushed around by over excitable and enthusiastic tourists and make sure you wear layers as the dungeons are allot cooler than the first few rooms you go through. The actual wax models are amazing, some are so realistic and life like that you get the creeps just being near them, so over all very impressive. If you, like all the hoards that sweep through these famous halls, want to get photos with the models, then be prepared for a bit of a wait. Its like being at the zoo, people crowding round each replica celebrity and leaping in at any opportunity to get a snapshot, so tip: don't wait in an orderly fashion, just jump in at any opportunity you get because otherwise you end up standing around like a lemon ( I quickly caught on), and as generally the better looking the celebrity the more ruthless the queuing becomes, so get those elbows out and go for it!The first room you go into has about 40 models dotted about the place from Kate Moss and Brad Pitt to Jamie Oliver and Davina McCall. My favorites were Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman and Little Britain's Lou and Andy. They were faultless and very freaky. You then go through to a Pirates of the Carribean set and down to the next level where you'll find The Hulk, Shrek, Spiderman and Arnold Schwarzenegger among others, there is also a room with sporting legends, Royals of the past and present and World leaders and role models and a Dungeons level where you walk through an educational history of torturers and methods of punishment, complete with a gruesome beheading. To finish off there's a taxi ride through the history of London and the opportunity to get your picture taken. There's an opptional short film made by Aardman Animations inclusive in the entry price about the life of stars which is projected on to the famous Madame Tussauds dome, so you lie back and get a 3D screen that appears all around you.So over all we really enjoyed our visit, but wouldn't do it again, just because it would be a bit dull to so it again as the show doesn't change very often. One thing I did enjoy was the Madame Tussuad room where her story and the model making process was explained, so interesting and so complicated. Did you know that it takes about 40 hours to put the hair into each model's head!! Crazy stuff! So I'd recommend it but would definitely suggest getting your tickets on line, I certainly wouldn't pay 30 to get in.

I wrote this on helphound.com aswell.

Summary: just one time is enough

The queues at Madame Tussauds are always massive.
