WHY????? (The O2 (formerly the Millennium Dome))

Advantages: There are none Disadvantages: Waste of money, time and space.
OK, I know Im not the only person who thinks like me, especially on the subject of the Millennium Dome, I strongly think its a waste of time and money and is the best way the government have thought of to waste a load of money and the worst way to mark the Millennium, or is this just my opinion? I think if the government wanted to do something remarkable for the year 2000, they should have cancelled some of the thrid world debt, or donated a massive lump sum to charity, like the amount they wasted on the Millenium dome a year ago. When I first heard what the government had planned for the end of the year 2000, I wondered what they were going to put in it, I mean, how much garbage from the last one thousand years can you cram into a massive golf ball? I mean, donating money would have been a much more noble gesture for them to make wouldent it, not to mention useful. The money they blew on the Dome would have made a world of difference to the lives of thousands of children and adults in the world, I dont know why the government had to be so greedy with the money and why they dident just bite the bullet and give it to charity.
