Advantages: Something special

Disadvantages: Too much to take in, in a day

I have just made my second trip to The Dome. I travelled down from Yorkshire both times. No I'm not mad - it was worth every penny. The place has had so much unfair negative publicity that it is surprising that it has had as many visitors as it has.

I went first time thinking that it would be OK but fully of flaws. We only had 5 hours to spare that time, so I took my mother the second time and we had a whole day (from 9.30 am until 7pm). We still didn't see everything - it needs a few days to take it all in properly.

Have you noticed how so many big mouths have slagged off The Dome without seeing it - look at the opinions written before mine - the high average star rating given by most visitors has been severely lowered by those who have not been anywhere near it.

They talk about the cost being X number of hospitals and other more worthy causes. What's more worthy that educating with delight which is what the Dome is all about - albeit in a very politically correct way.

I'm sure it is a lost cause, with so many people believing the bad publicity, but I think the Dome should be kept on as a permanent attraction. It could evolve over the years to keep the national spirit going.

There is something special about it and I'm very sorry that it's going to disappear so soon - and very sorry I left it so late to see it!
