Advantages: Really hands on

Disadvantages: None

Pennywell farm isn't cheap, £9.95 for adults, £7.95 for 3-16 year olds and under threes are free. Although this is expensive compared with other similar parks and the size of Pennywell Farm, the fact that it is so hands on, I feel makes it worth every Penny! Also, Tesco clubcard 'days out' voucher can be used to pay for entry.

There are regular set activities every hour or so throughout the day, including, bottle feeding the lambs and goats, pet handling and a very impressive falconry show.

The animals are housed in a few different barns, one in particular has several separate pens and you can actually go in with goats, ducks, chickens, calf's and rabbits.

Aside from all of the animals, there are outdoor play areas for older children and toddlers, they have several trampolines, a maze and everyone gets a ticket for a free mini train ride on entry. There is a café and licensed restaurant on site, with toilet and baby changing facilities. It's a lovely place to visit, in a beautiful area of Devon and it is really refreshing to see the animals wandering around freely, even though the kid goats try to eat your clothes!

Summary: Children will love it
