Advantages: 5star, lots of facilites friendly staff
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, a rubbish restraunt/cafe
Reflections Leisure Club is a great little spa and fitness centre in Chineham near Tesco. I have been a member ther for about 6 years.
FIrstly fitness: There is a large gym with a variety of CV exerisise machines a weights area and streching section. In the middle are TVs showing differnt channels. On the machines you can plug in headphones and choose a channel to listen to or you can also listen to the radio. The gym is an OK price but when its busy (normally 5-8) it can sometimes be hard to get on a machine. It is kept very clean. There is also a peaceful room for pilates and Yoga...a really great relaxed environment to be in. Theres another large studio for other fitness classes. THere are weights, balls, foam mats and steps all available to use for the classes. A spinning room is permanently set up with funky lighting for the spining class. All studios have a great sounds system in place.
Also on offer are a lot Tennis courts (which i don't use so can't comment on) inside and out as well as a games room for children to use. A creche is available to put your kids in for a holiday club or while you exersise.
There are two pools, one for exersising and laps and the other for kids and familys. Neither are huge but because they are split into two it never gets to busy or if your doing laps you wont be distracted by kids.
The changing rooms are large and very clean offering lockers (£1), communual changing areas, changing cubicles, showers, hairdryers, kids changing area, toilets and direct access to the swimming pool.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and included with your membership is a free sesion with a persnol trainer so you can work out a exersise programme for you.
The Spa: A small but very luxourios area. With calming sounds, relaxing aromatheropy and comfy chairs you will feel like a queen! They offer massages, manicures, acupuncture, head massages, reflexology, all sorts. They are quite expensive but definetly worth the price as you get value for money.
Free for all members is a sauna, steam room and jucuzi.
The biggest let down is the restraunt/cafe which is expensive. The service there is slow and the food is never that great, especially for the price they charge. Its a comfy area to sit and take your own drinks and snacks and socialize with the friends youve made with other members.
Generally theres a great atmosphere around the place. Everyone is chatty and it is a very social place. The staff will learn your name and chat to you when you go. They also put on charity events and quiz nights as well as xmas/easter meals for members. The price for membership is quite expensive but the place is 5star quality, great decor, friendly staff and lots of facilities. Im not sure the exact price but for a student its around £40 per month. There is also a joining fee but they often have deals on where its free to join.
Summary: a fantastic social atmosphere. Lots on offer to members
