Black Isle Wildlife & Country Park (Drumsmittal, Ross-shire):
... WILDLIFE AND FARM PARK! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Black Isle Wildlife And Farm park is located North East of Inverness, and unfortunately you need a car to get there, as it is off the beaten track, (please see below for directions). Once you get there however, you will certainly not be disappointed. The park is completely independently run, and relies heavily on tourists and bodies through the gates, for all of ... The Kilmartin Valley (Argyll, Scotland) ... do all this too, of course). The price for visiting is a very reasonable £4.50 for adults, £1.50 for children and a family will need to pay only £10.00. Before you leave Kilmartin house, take a look round the small but very well supplied book/gift shop. There are many excellent books about Kilmartin and other places of interest in Scotland, about Scottish history and prehistory, and some lovely gifts. No tourist tat here, thank you very much. Time to go and see the monuments themselves now! But wait a minute, it’s nearly lunchtime… No point setting off on an empty stomach now, is there? Luckily, there is an excellent café attached to the museum. You sit in a ... Read the full review: The valley of ghosts by weetoon |

George Square (Glasgow) ... features. To the south, there is the old General Post Office building that was not long after the City Chambers. It is home to offices and apartments now and for a good few years has been covered by a HUGE advertising board that dominates the views to the south of the square and is one of the most expensive advertising spots in Scotland. The west of the square is occupied by another Victorian building which houses a large public house (well, we are in Scotland here!) called the Counting House. This is a very popular pub which is set in a very large and grand room that serves food during the day and is busy with socialising glasweigans in the evening. An interest... Arbroath Abbey ... - after all they did treat us Scots extremely badly in those days. Being from Arbroath myself it is nice to comment on a local place with significant relevance to Scottish History. For this is the spot where the Declaration of Independence from that nasty lot down south took place. Arbroath is a fishing town on the east coast of Scotland 17 miles up the coast from Dundee and about 50 miles down from Aberdeen. We are known to most to be the home of the "Smokie" - haddock smoked in pairs over hardwood chips in square barrels and are also famous for holding the biggest win in football history against the then Bon Accord team who went on to become Aberdeen ...
