Advantages: Just off M4, Kenilworth Castle nearby, All day experience.

Disadvantages: Expensive., Few dodgy wax works!

Warwick castle is arguably one of the finest and well preserved castles in England. With a history going back well over 1000 years, it is well worth a visit if you get a chance.

Get there early though, as it is easy to spend the entire day wandering the castle and grounds.

There are also scheduled events, from archery demonstrations to mock battles that take place throughout the day that should keep you interested.

Climbing the battlements and towers is not for the faint hearted, but you will be rewarded with amazing views of the Warickshire countryside.

Although it can be expensive for a family to visit, it is well worth it as it is not only educational, it should keep the kids(as well as the big adult kids)amused all day.
