Scotty9 Glencoe: ... Scotland s oldest ski resort is one of my favourites in this country. It offer fantastic off piste and natural terrain, not to mention the pretty decent slopes too. Uplift is by a main chairlift from the car park up onto the mountain and then all upift is by tows bar one more single chairlift. It gets a bit tiring being on the tows all day but if you re looking for some good skiing then it s worth it! The b...

very-useful-gal Chamonix
... is a town in the South of France. It is under the shadow of Mont Blanc and is only a five minute drive to the Mont Blanc tunnel which is the border between France and Italy. Chamonix is most famous for its skiing but I visited this Summer and discovered that it has a lot more to offer. There are lots of hotels in Chamonix, many are very central and within easy walking distance of the centre. The town is actually quite large and has a large supermarket, lots of reasonably priced restaurants serving French food such as fondues and raclette. If French food isn t what you fancy there are ltos of pizza restaurants and cafes (even a McDonalds). Chamonix has more ...

... This is a review of Jasper in the summer time, i.e. out of ski season. Will be cross posted elsewhere (igougo.com) Jasper is a small town in Jasper National Park, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It is located on the very Western edge of the province of Alberta. There is a railway running through town and main roads out East to Edmonton and South to Banff. Tourism is the major industry here these days and much of the town is converted to hotels, camp sites, shops and tour operators to support this industry. We came here early in the summer and experienced its summer incarnation as a centre for summer outdoor pursuits. Although small in people, you will find that mo...

LIZR315 Pamparovo
... - In Summer!! Most people visit this resort in winter for the skiing and snowboarding. However we like to be different so we went in August to see what the area had to offer. It s a great place to go as prices are cheap and it s outside of the Euro zone. Friends had bought an apartment in the next village of Stoykite which is close to the new ski lift and offer us the use whenever we fancied it. Flights into to Sofia (via Easyjet) late at night saw us and our 17 month old decide to spend the night in a Sofia airport hotel. Next morning we collected our hire car and set off after lunch. Roads For a summer trip car hire is essential. Public transport around ...
