Advantages: Good Snow, Small lift queues, great apres ski

Disadvantages: slopes can get busy, don't get stuck in different valley

Absolutely outstanding holiday destination. I went last year, as a second season snowboarder and had a fantastic time. We went in February and had great snow, although mid-week the slopes became a bit patchy and icey but after another heavy snowfall we spent the last two days in heavenly powder. Buy a 3 Valley lift pass and you need not travel the same slope twice...the ski area is huge. The lifts are great as well, very short queues and very few drag lifts.

Be aware that the restaurants on piste are incredibly expensive...about £11 for three cokes!! But go to the sandwich bar opposite the 1850 ski-lifts and buy a cheap filled baguette to take up on the slopes with you and stop for a cheap packed lunch with amazing scenery.

Apres Ski, was also great. Very busy and lively atmosphere. Very friendly. Many other good bars too, with live music.

Make the effort to go to an Ice Hockey match in Courchevel 1850..certainly an experience and great fun!! Make sure your ready to make some noise and support your team.

Also remember to take advantage of using the pistes going down to Courchevel 1650 and 1550. These seemed to be a lot quieter and would be very good for learning and practice.

All round great snowboarding location..well worth a visit!!!
