Advantages: a lot of things to do
Disadvantages: not much
La Clusaz is absolute beauty. The atomosphere given out alone, gives such a lovely feeling. I will write a review to try and describe, as best I can, how wonderful this place is. ACCOMODATION - I stayed in 'Alpen Roc' which is litrelly right next the hustle and bustle of the town. i have been here in the summer and winter, so i have a fair assessment of what the place is like every season. The hotel I stayed in was very authentic, with a sense of being in a large cabin, with beautiful flowers and greenery everywhere. The hotels around the town and area, tenede to blend in with the surroundings, for example, log like buildings, colourful flowers e.t.c... and it wasn't like the typical overly elaborate city hotels. It makes you feel at home and the rooms, were all wonderful, every single room had a balcony, which allowed you to view the beautious scenery. The rooms, were quite spacious with a shower, bath, toliet and huge closets. Breakfast and dinner as usually preapred for you, depending how much money you paid for, and it includes, starter, main course, cheese and biscuits and then dessert and then coffee! Brilliant! All the food is gorgeous french food, so you really will be piling on the pounds when you eat here. PEOPLE AROUND TOWN - The people around the town, were very friendly and it was a great place to practise my french. However, don't be alarmed if you can't speak french, if you don't pick it up, everyoen including thelocals, as pretty fluent in English anyway, so they don't mind. SHOPS- The shops are so cool. They have very French like shops, with their patisseries with elaborate cakes and coffee, which is so yummy, along with many authentic french restaurants, like crepes and all the rest. They have a french supermarket so you can buy some of the essentials if you need it. If you are lucky enough to stay over a weekend time, there is the La Clusaz market
, which is brilliant. Everything from sausages to clothes, there is something that you will like and will buy at least one thing. it is so cheap as well. The other shops, are like clothes shops and stuff, which is great, because you get the coolest deals and get really nice clothes. NEIGHBOURING PLACES - There are also lots of places that are close to La Clusaz, such as Switziland itself (Geneva), Annecy and Chamonix (Mont Blanc). Annecy was absolutely brilliant with the promenade and a perfect town. Chamonix has Mont Blanc which I went up to and is a MUST when staying near Chamonix. There are so many palces to go when you stay here, so don't feel trapped, when staying in La Clusaz. WEATHER - In the summer, you get an amazing tan! It is so hot, but it is lovely, not a gross kind of heat, but a warm fresh feeling. The air always feels fresh and comforting, unlike the usual sweltering heat. in the winter, it is obviously quite cold, but you still get a tan in the mountains. The air, is great, as it feels refreshing and it really does makes you feel healthier! SKING - even in the summer, it is possible to ski with dry slopes, but you don't have to be an expert, to ski as there is everything for the family. There are also people trained to teach you so don't be worried. Winter, is bustling with people along so if you want to be around tons of people go in the winter. Summer has just a little amount, but enough to feel at home. CONCLUSION - A must for those into sking, but like my mum and dad who don't ski ....ever, it is still worth going. It is great for the adventurous and young at heart and it is worth every penny you spend.
