My husband and I visited Les Gets in the French Alps in March 2008 and were very impressed with the resort. We went to ski and enjoy the snow, so i cannot comment on the area as a summer resort (which offers mountain biking in the summer) but will certainly share my experience of it in the glorious snow. We travelled to Les Gets from Bournemouth airport via Geneva and the journey was a really easy one. We hired a car at Genenva airport and the drive to the resort took just under two hours, which included a stop off at a supermarket on the way! At this time of year many people are starting to think about booking a skiing holiday for next year. Everybody has their favourite resort but if you are looking for somewhere that is suitable for all standards of skiers, is easily drivable from England and is especially suitable for families then can I suggest Les Gets in France Les Gets is quite low in itself, village level is at 1175m but at the top it is 2350m and as it is part of the Portes du Soleil area there is plenty of high level skiing available should conditions be bad.
