Morzine in generalNewest Review: ... a hostel. Rooms range from Single rooms up to large 6 bed dorm rooms, i opted for the 3 bed dorm and was comfortable. The atmosphere in the chalet is great, parties and BBQ's are frequently arranged of which attract people from all over the town. As for Morzine itself, it is a fairly small French alpine town located close to the Swiss boarder. There are two lifts located within 300 meters of each other, one heads in the direction of Avoriaz whist the other will take you towards les Gets. I would recommend the full area pass as this will cover both lifts and therefore maximize you available skiing terrain. There are many bars located in M... more |

I spent a whole winter season in Morzine, 4 months altogether and can safely say it was the best time of my life! I stayed in the Chalet Nantegue which is a relaxed chalet run by snowboarders. This means they know what you want as a customer and will do anything to ensure they meet your requirements. You can stay at the chalet wether you are spending 4 months there or just 1 week, the cost is charged on a daily basis much like a hostel. The skiing was brilliant although it was late in the season and being confident skiers, we spent a lot of the time higher up the mountain. We did find the lower slopes slushy but doable. The resort offers two cable carts up to either sides of the mountain each with plenty of slopes, restaurants and toilets! On one side you are able to ski down to Switzerland which is very exciting. The town itself is very quaint; it is well resourced and has lots of restaurants, internet cafes, bars and shops but in traditional Alp style. We stayed ... Read the complete review

We went to Morzine (staying in the neighbouring Les Gets) for just 2 nights and 2 days of skiing in the period between Christmas and New Year 2008. As a resort, Morzine has quite a young, busy feel - quite expensive and clearly catering for the foreign market. I preferred Les Gets because it just had a nicer, quainter feel to it, with more interesting shops and restuarants. We were extremely lucky to get accommodation for a short stay at that time of year, when usually you'll only be able to book a minimum of 7 nights. We stayed at 'Hotel a la Bonne Franquette' in Les Gets, which was about 2 mins walk from the chairlift and extremely accommodating. Run by a lovely lady ... Read the complete review

Chalet 'Les Sapins' Morzine - Very comfortable chalet, unfortunately owners are over protective of their chalet, list of rules are endless. Do not book this chalet if you are thinking of taking children - or booking in-house Nanny service as if owners were honest would prefer no children at all!
