Quaint, traditional yet everything you need in one town. (Morzine in general)

Advantages: Everything you need in one town with the choice of both sides of the mountain to ski. Disadvantages: Buses got very busy during peak times! I spent 7 days in Morzine in April 2007 and had a brilliant time. We went during the last week of the ski season, during the Easter holidays. The skiing was brilliant although it was late in the season and being confident skiers, we spent a lot of the time higher up the mountain. We did find the lower slopes slushy but doable. The resort offers two cable carts up to either sides of the mountain each with plenty of slopes, restaurants and toilets! On one side you are able to ski down to Switzerland which is very exciting. The town itself is very quaint; it is well resourced and has lots of restaurants, internet cafes, bars and shops but in traditional Alp style. We stayed in a chalet just out of the town and used the buses to transport our gear to the cable cart. These were very reliable although did get very busy. We enjoyed several meals out and some bargains of the end of season stock! Summary: Lovely resort to spend a week skiing |
