Skiing In U.S.A - the clear choice for winter holidays (Ski Resorts in the USA in general)

Advantages: plenty of slopes for all levels, quality slopes, at least 5" of snow, excellent facilities

Disadvantages: NOTHING!!

If you are reading this and contemplating going to the U.S.A to ski, contemplate no more! I have only been to one ski resort, sunday river in new England, so I can only speak from this one experience. But I have been to France and you can't compare the two. They are in different leagues, Sunday river has everything you'd ever need to have an enjoyable skiing holiday. The resort is luxury and there are loads of ski slopes for all levels. If you are into the more traditional skiing holiday the i would say go to france but if this is your first time or your looking for something different to the Alps the go to the USA.

Even if you are a beginner (as I was when i went) you can make it to several peaks by the end of one week. The weather is always great and the skiing challenging but most of all its great fun. Even if your not confident its so fun and you begin to develop a great skill due to the great coaching and the world-class facilities. I had broken my arm skiing 8 weeks prior to my trip, I had 1% confidence in myself but when i got there I took it in my stride and I got to some high levels and i am a much more accomplished and confident skier now.

away from the ski slopes there are also many things to do. The ski centre facilites are typically american - great quality and massive! outside the skiing centre and in Sunday river is a brilliant cinema, the hotels facilities are the best i've seen they include a gym, heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and the rooms all have large cable T.V's, kitchens, big bathroom and the food supplied at the hotel is excellent.

It was my best holiday ever and if you're looking for a good time skiing then sunday River's the place, no queues, quality slopes with at least 5" of snow and excellent facilities. I give it a solid 10/10 and it's an experience I'll never forget.
