Tignes 2100 (Tignes)
Member Name: CC4England
Advantages: Great Skiing, Advanced Skiiers will love it, Cheap Disadvantages: Ugly, Not too much in the way of off piste Tignes, along with Val D'isere makes up the Espace Killy Ski Area in the Savoie region of France. Because of its high altidude, 2100m, Tignes is almost guaranteed snow. Split into two main centres, Val Claret (mainly appartment blocks) and Le Lac (more chalets), Tignes comprises a vast ski area for the more advanced skiier. Along with Val D'isere, there are basically 5 valleys, ranging from L'Aguile Pierce on the tignes side to La Fornet on the Val side, the best of which is arguably the far right on the piste map, L'aguile Pierce, where there are two main black runs, the Sache and the Silene, both can be quite a challenge when moguly, the Sache especially, because of its length can be a handful. Tignes is perfect for people aged 18-30 as the bars are open long into the night and the accomodataion is cheap, you can go for around £500 for flights, transfers, accomodation, lift pass and Ski rental. Summary: Great resort, been there 3 times and going back next year |
