Advantages: loads of off piste, big run area

Disadvantages: lack of night life

All you seem to hear about Tignes is that its very ugly! My opinion is that you should be out on the slopes anyway and not mincing around the resort village.

OK, its not a pretty Dorset village but it really isnt all that bad.

Its a compact resort, with everything you could really need. Easy lift and slope access and free buses between the two villages Val Claret and Le Lac.

Not much of a night life really, but drinking in is much cheaper.

Superb snow conditions, even in January when I went. Loads of lifts, snow board park and more off piste than you can shake a stick at.

Val D'Isere is reachable via piste and lift too.
