Advantages: Good mix of lifts, lots of beginner Green and Blue slopes

Disadvantages: Not that much for advanced, difficult descent for beginners from the telecabine.

I took a school ski trip to Passo Tonale in February and have very mixed feelings about the resort. We stayed in the adjoining village which was connected by a regular telecabine - reasonably quick and opened at reasonable times. My main issue with the resort was that if you were coming from the neighbouring village on the telecabine, you had two choices - either get off half way up the cabine and take the bus, or board/ski down the steep hill to the ski school area. This proved a problem for beginner boarders and skiiers as it meant that they had to compete with the experianced and therefore fast skiiers wizzing down behind them. The resort would definatley benefit from stairs or a graduated slope.

Apart from the initial hill, the rest of the resort was ideal for beginners with a good mix of pommas and chair lifts. A word of warning though, dont attempt to get on the lifts at the start of ski lessons as you will be waiting a long time.

Summary: An ideal resort for schools but not for young boarders
