In the resort there is a wide range of hotel and self catering accommodation. Our favourite, in the Hoyfjellsenter, is genuine ski-in, ski-out. The range of restaurants is small (though the prices are not - we budget a minimum of £20 a head for a modest evening meal) but the quality is superb. This Norwegian ski resort is not terribly well known or frequented by non-Scandinavians and it does go some considerable way towards hidden gem status. It's much easier to get to than one might at first think, as there is a superb bus service from Gardermoen airport. You don't have to book in advance and the bus company guarantees a seat for everyone who wants one, putting on extra vehicles as necessary.
