Great skiing, fantastic snow (Utah)
Member Name: ksb76
Advantages: Beautiful runs, great tree skiing Disadvantages: No on mountain accomodation The most fantastic place to ski in the world!! and there's a title. Having skied quite a few resorts in North America, Utah, specifically in this case Snowbasin and Alta, both located just 40 minutes from Salt Lake City are just unbelievable. The snow there is light, powdery and plentiful. During february while we were there they had 60 inches of new snow over the course of a week, so we had countless powder days. The resorts themselves are not ones to stay in as there is very little accomodation on the mountain itself but there is plenty down below in the Salt Lake City suburbs, so you do need a hire car to get yourselves up the mountain each day - drive is about 15 minutes from the bottom to the top. During the day though there are plenty of on mountain restaurants etc to keep you fed and warm. Note that Alta is a ski only resort - no snowboarding allowed! Summary: Awesome! |
