Ancient civilization turned to the deep blue sea for its healing powers.

Today Algologie understand the powers of the ocean and its plants growing init. They understand how they can benefit the human body which are enriched with minerals known to mankind.

Algologie is a France based company.

They won't provide your skin with a quick fix that some other companies do. With all of Algologie's products you will not find any aggressive ingredients that can damage the skin nor will you find the "latest" find in beauty.

What you will find however is proven natural anti-ageing benefits of algae. It is a fine ingredient that has been thoroughly tested around the world.

~About the Product / What the Product Says to Do~
This is a day treatment for oily and combination skins.
It is based on 8 active ingredients.
It purifies hydrates and matifying the skin at the same time.
It is a brilliant makeup base.

~Application~
Apply a small amount on the tips of your fingertips and rub together. Apply all over the face in an upward and outward stroking motion. Leave to sink in for a few minutes.

~Texture / Packaging / Colour / Smell~
The texture of this product feels light and creamy yet not rich. It glides on the face with such ease and goes a long way.

Packaging is simple as all the money goes into the product itself. This product comes in a 50ml tube, which is white all over with green writing. It has a pop off lid.

The colour of this product is a light pink/cream.

The smell to me is very fruity because of the essential oils used including grape seed oil, camellia oil, lemon oil, orange oil as well as different extracts.

~My Opinion~
I was introduced to this range a few months ago after visiting a professional beauty forum. I was asking about a natural product for oily skins and this one seemed a favourite. There were also a few beauticians who use Algologie in their salons and their clients love the products.

Unfortunately there aren't many places at all who supply Algologie apart from Jica who are the main suppliers.

I went to Jica and looked for the products in the oily range; there I came across Anti-Shine Moisturiser so I bought that for £15.60 for a 50ml tube. At first I thought it was expensive but I thought if it is as good as they say it is then it's got to be worth it and there are other creams out there that cost a lot more.

It arrived within a few days and I couldn't wait to try it. The first thing that hit me was the smell; it smelt light, fresh and kinda fruity. The smell isn't overpowering and goes within a few minutes.

I cleansed and toned my face as usual and put a tiny amount on the tips of my fingertips. I applied it to my skin in an upwards and outwards stroking method and it seemed to just glide on and felt beautiful on the skin. The product sank in after a few minutes and my skin felt so soft and smooth, although it wasn't matte looking like I was lead to believe. But I thought it would get better through the day.

Also be aware if you apply too much product your skin might feel greasy and you may have to blot your face with tissue before applying makeup etc.

Unfortunately it didn't get better through the day and I ended up blotting my skin with blotting paper in the day. But I also thought it might be because my skin has got to get used to the product first before it gets better.

After a few weeks of using this product I never had a matte appearance that I was hoping for and I am forever blotting my face in the day, but on a positive note my skin feels soft, hydrated and plump.

When applying makeup over the top of this product I find makeup glides on with ease, there is no dryness or cracking of makeup through the day so you're always looking fresh and just that I have just applied my makeup look.

Unfortunately when I have used this product I doubt I will be re-purchasing due to the non-matte appearance I was expecting. But this product does feel so lovely on the skin, my skin does feel great but that doesn't justify blotting every second of the day. So for that reason I am out.

I would say if you have combination skin instead of oily this product might be just what you are looking for.

~Price and Where to Buy~
You can purchase this product from http://www.jica.com for £15.16

~Would I Recommend / Purchase Again~
I wouldn't for an oily skin but for combination skin then yes I would.

Summary: Great product but not if you have oily skin
