Hello All ! I cannot praise aqueous cream enough .... Having got to the ripe old age of 37 and been pretty lucky with my skin despite not looking after it properly, I decided to invest in some 'premium' skincare products. The products I invested in (£54 !) were Clinique. I used the mild soap, the clarifying lotion (No 2) and the Dramatically Different Moisturiser. Whilst I understand that Clinique works wonders for some womens skin, the result on myself was the complete opposite. I gave the products a week to see if my skin would get used to it but no ... After hibernating in the house for 3 days in utter despair with a red, ... Read the complete review

I think aqueous cream has been around for longer than me, as I'm pretty sure I was prescribed it as a child. However I re-discovered it when (a few years ago) I developed an awful problem with the skin around my eyes and the GP prescribed Aqueous Cream, and sadly I found this stuff was not at all effective. First - this stuff burned my raw skin! Second - the moisturisation around my eyes was not effective, barely lasting a couple of hours (if I could bear to keep it on that long!). Thirdly - this stuff takes ages to sink into the skin, so it slides... a bad thing when it's around your eyes! It resulted in temporarily blurred ... Read the complete review

This is proof of the usefulness of the dooyoo community. Some time ago I wrote an opinion on a particular brand of hand cream, which my poor deluded husband continued to use in an ongoing battle against eczema. I criticised the product considerably and several dooyooers in their comments suggested that I try Mr Ophelia with various other creams, one of which was aqueous cream. As I trust my fellow community members I dashed off to the nearest pharmacist and purchased a tub. THE CREAM The cream is designed for relieving dry skin conditions, but is also extremely useful in moisturising horses? hooves! The cream contains a mixture of liquid paraffin, ... My husband has a form of excema around his eyes and nose which he has been told is due to years working in the printing machinery trade and all the strong substances involved. His doctor recommended aqueous cream a couple of years ago. You can buy a 500g tub from Boots pharmacy counter at just under £4.00. A smaller, toothpaste sized tube is also available but is not as good value for money. The doctor recommended the cream be applied very liberally, which is ok when you are in the comfort of your own home, but as it takes a while to settle in, you need to remember to apply it some time before you go out - although it does cause some amusement ... If you are lucky enough to be one of those people who have never suffered from dry skin, eczema or dermatitis then you don't know how lucky your are. I suffered from dermatitis on my hands many, many years ago which was a reaction from printing ink on a photocopier and also the Windolene that used to be a pink creme in a bottle years ago. This can be very painful and actually can bleed in cold weather if not treated right. I didn't know about Aqueous Cream then so suffered in silence( well knowing me probaly not silence!!). So as the years have gone on I finally discovered this wonderful cream. Now one of my son's gets flare ups of very dry and red skin under ... Read the complete review
