Advantages: Rehydrates briliantly

Disadvantages: Irritates some

For those of you that dont know, Mr and Mrs Andycharger became parents on 1/1/2004 for the first time. Baby Kami or "chubba lumps" as I call her, came into the world all wrinkly and soft but a few days late. 5 days to be exact.
Now I had been told that late babies can come out with very dry skin. This was the case with Kami after a few days. Her little ankles were cracking and her skin made her look quite flakey! Her arms too were peeling and I felt quite sorry for her.

Following Midwife advice, we were told of a great product called "Aqueous Cream".
Apparently, its a great rehyrdating product for skin.
With this in mind , i set off for the chemist and was happy to part with my £2.39 in order to soothe my baby's skin.

following the simple instructions (wash your hands basically and apply liberally) i began gently massaging Kami on her dry parts of her body. This was mainly her legs and arms and bits of her belly. However, its best to keep it away from sensitive areas just to be safe.

It is a white cream and the consistency of oil paints!! that is the best way to describe it.
However it is not greasy, it is not fragrant and it is not perfumed so it is a very simple moisturiser.
For this reason, it is absorbed by the skin very quickly.

Prior to this, we had tried sudacrem and other products which seem to make no difference.
However, with the Aqueous cream we noticed a difference straight away.

The skin softened up and began to become smooth and regular. The cracks dissappeared and now we have a perfect baby with perfect Skin. All of this happened less than a week after we started using it.

Some caution should be issued though. Not everyone can tollerate the Aqueous Cream. In fact, it may cause a reaction in some children and babies with sensitive skin. However this is in the minority and is safe on the majority.

This is claimed to be due to the use of pre
servatives in the cream that give it the shelf life. However, we were lucky and Kami is fine with it.

Other Uses?
Its not only for flakey babies! It can also be used in the adult world as a cure for chapped or dry skin. Handy in the winter when the wind is up and stripping the moisture from your face.

For the guys out there you can use it during and after shaving as it helps to remoisturise your face while the razor removes it!

It also gives people with Eczema a non Steroid Alternative to the doctor prescribed creams.
