Advantages: It cleanses, tones, moisturises and removes all traces of make up

Disadvantages: None

When it comes to skin care you can't be too careful, after all, you only have one face. I have bought facial wipes in the past, expecting them to remove make up and leave your skin feeling clean and refreshed without any traces of make up, but, boy was I in for a shock. Each named brand of wipes and store own brands are completely different, the only thing that I have found in common at all is that they are called facial wipes!

The Asda essential care fragranced cleansing wipes actually do what they suggest they do and, further more, they do it without any irritation to your skin. Some other brands which will remain nameless have caused my skin to appear very red and angry looking whilst at the same time on fire! Now whilst they may have left my skin feeling clean they probably removed a few layers of skin as well and I would be left with a sore face for a while. Needless to say I don't use these any more.

These Asda wipes were actually purchased by my husband who bought them as a 3 for £2 deal which is in place until december. A pretty good deal I thought, but he actually bought them with the intention of giving them to our daughter April who recently turned 13 and has had some minor skin irritations appear (spots) sssh, and he thought that these would be worth a try.

Well, April has been absolutely delighted with the change to her skin, in a relatively short space of time (about 4 days) her skin tone appears more even, less oily, her spots appear reduced and she can use the wipes to remove any make up (without scrubbing) safe in the knowledge it will not aggravate her skin. I was really pleased for her as I know being a teenager can be quite difficult (I wouldn't want to relive it again) and appearance is everything. Intrigued by April's experience, I myself tried them and as I said before, have had some awful experieces with other brands.

The packaging;

The packaging is white with a light green edge. There is a sticky seal on the top which you pull back to remove a single wipe then replace to stop wipes drying out. Each pack contains 25 wipes. It claims that the wipes are 4 in 1 facial wipes which breaks down as follows;

Cleanser
Toner
moisturiser
make up remover

I found like April that they remove make up with little effort and the wipes themselves seem really quite moist, my face felt fresh and clean without being tight and did not appear angry looking at all. My skin felt softer and there was no need to use more than one wipe per usage. So all in all, it does exactly what four other individual products do in a single wipe. It's a no brainer, it's cheaper and much easier to store a packet of wipes than four other individual products. Most of all I think it is a ingenious way to encourage young adults to get into a good skin care regime without all the fuss of seperate cleansers, toners etc which to be honest at there age they just can't be bothered. These wipes are also hypoallergenic, colour free, alcohol free and soap free. They also contain sea minerals to protect and perfect a long with vitamin E and pro vitamin B5.

Size wise it's 7" by 8" or 17.75cm by 20.3cm, white with a slight bobbled texture and is relatively thin and slightly stretchy. Fragrance wise it resembles a clean and fresh smell but mostly I would say it smells like a baby wipe!

I think that they are brilliant, safe enough for all the members of the family to use and absolutely brilliant value for money.

Asda also have a no testing on animals policy, so you, as the consumer can relax safe in the knowledge your wipes caused no harm to anyone. You also have the right to a no quibble money back guarantee if you should have any problems.

Longevity wise, these wipes have a 3 months shelf life which I thought was pretty short but if you use them everyday as my daughter intends then you shouldn't have to worry about the product not being it's best. Also, each wipe must not be flushed, but disposed of in a bin.

Most certainly I would reccommend this product to all who like a simple skin care regime and a product that offers great value for money.

Summary: It does what it says on the packet!
